1.8. “Style ID” means to Style ID Africa Proprietary (Registration Number 2009/017637/07); and

1.9. “Website” means the Style ID Influencer marketing website located at https://styleid.africa.

3. THE TYPES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED AND PROCESSED

1.10. The Website gathers Personal Information about the User directly through the User’s use of

our services which is collected via the User’s use of the Website.

1.2.4. to enable the User to register and validate the User’s account;

1.2.5. to verify the User’s identity and protect the User’s account from hackers;

1.2.6. enable personalisation of the User’s account and connection to brands;

1.2.7. connecting the User’s account to the User’s agent’s account;

1.2.8. support internal administration and enable the efficiency of the User’s account;

1.2.9. to check the last time the Website’s services were used, if at all;

1.2.10. to provide products and services;

1.2.11. to communicate with Users to inform Data subjects of services and/or products;

1.2.12. for direct marketing purposes provided that the Data subject has specifically consented thereto in accordance with chapter 8 of the POPI Act;

1.2.13. for business purposes, such as research, prospecting, analysing and managing Style ID’s business, market research, audits, developing new products, improving our services and products, gauging customer satisfaction and providing customer;

1.2.14. to manage the Website’s IT infrastructure, in line with its internal policies and procedures, including those relating to finance and accounting, billing and collections, IT systems operation, Data and Website hosting, Data analytics, business continuity, records management, document and print management, and auditing;

1.2.15. to manage complaints, feedback and queries, and handle requests for Data access or correction, or the exercise of other rights relating to Personal Information;

1.2.16. to comply with contractual obligations;

1.2.17. for any other purpose permitted by law; and

1.2.18. We may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise notified by our Users, use the information provided by them for promotional, marketing, research and profiling purposes. All group emails that are sent to the database will contain an “unsubscribe” option.

1.3. Contractual relationship with brands

1.2.19. Brands can choose to upload any relevant information that makes their branding accessible to other Users;

1.2.20. Should a brand choose to upload this information, each brand will be responsible for the security of Personal Information if it is publicly displayed on the Website;

1.4. Choice not to provide Personal Information:

The User is not obliged to provide Personal Information however:

1.2.21. the User’s login details will not be able to verified which may impact the User’s security;

1.2.22. we will not be able to manage the User’s account at a suitable standard without having access to the User’s Personal Information;

1.2.23. we will not be able to effectively connect the User to other Users which connection is optimal for full use of our services;

1.2.24. we will not be able to improve our customer service and communicate effectively with the User; and

1.2.25. we will be able to personalize User experience.

1.5. In addition to the above, the User’s Personal Information may be used for:

1.2.26. detecting and preventing fraud on the Website;

1.2.27. detecting and preventing errors;

1.2.28. ensuring security across Users; and

1.2.29. research purposes (where Users will remain anonymous).

1.6. Procedural requirements for Personal Information to be used:

1.2.30. consent (“opt-in” requirement);

1.2.31. execute a contract between the User and the Website; and

1.2.32. to fulfil regulatory requirements.

5. SHARING INFORMATION

1.2. Public:

1.2.33. There will be features on the Website that intend to promote Users which requires that the User’s information is accessible to other influencers, brands and agents who view the Website.

1.2.34. This will allow those who view the Website to upload comments and reviews on content displayed and engage with videos and/or pictures.

1.7. Third Parties:

1.2.35. Where other corporate affiliates show interest in our company, we may share information for the purpose of providing a full accounts of our company in order to inform their decision to get involved with our company.

1.2.36. It is not our policy to share any Personal Information gathered from Data subjects with any third party other than service providers, subcontractors and consultants who have a need to know such information.

1.2.37. Where we are required to share Personal Information with such third parties, we may only do so to the extent permitted by this policy and in law.

1.2.39. Where Personal Information is required to be shared with such third party via international transfer, Style ID shall comply with section 72 of the POPI Act.

1.2.40. In the event of a Data breach, Users must immediately report such Data breach by contacting us at support@styleid.africa and we shall cooperate fully with them in resolving such breach.

1.8. Agents/Influencers:

On the User’s request to be linked to other Users across the Website, we will share the User’s information and link the User’s account to other influencers, agents and brands.

1.9. Consent to disclose:

Where we want to disclose information with third parties that are not affiliated, we will ask for the User’s consent.

6. PRIVACY RIGHTS

1.2. User rights include:

1.2.41. right to access the User’s personal Data held on Website at all times

1.2.42. right to rectify or update Personal Information

1.2.43. right to request deletion of the User’s Personal Information or the User’s account

1.2.44. right to object to the processing of the User’s Personal Information

1.2.45. right to withdraw the User’s consent at any time (this is subject to the necessity to continue processing the User’s personal Data in limited circumstances)

6.2. Exercising rights:

1.2.49. Should the User wish to exercise the User’s rights at any point, the User can contact us at info@styleid.africa. Upon receipt of the User’s complaint or request in terms of the User’s right exercised, we shall make every effort to accommodate the User and uphold the User’s right.

1.2.50. While these rights are available to protect the User, they may not be applicable in all circumstances and we reserve our right to exercise our discretion in terms of evaluating whether a right has been infringed.

7. SECURE STORAGE OF INFORMATION

1.2. Security:

1.2.51. All information is by us on secure systems or database or on the secure systems or database of its Users.

1.2.52. We have implemented industry standard security measures that are designed to protect the User’s information.

1.2.53. While we ensure that these security measures are well maintained and operate at the highest level, we cannot always guarantee that User information will not be compromised by unauthorized interferences.

1.2.54. In order to safeguard against unauthorized interference it is imperative that the User use strong passwords and to keep these passwords private The User must undertake to take all reasonable and necessary steps to secure the integrity and confidentiality of the User’s Personal Information and protect the information from misuse, loss, interference, unauthorised access, modification or unauthorised disclosure.

7.2. Destruction of the User’s information:

1.2.55. When a User no longer wishes to be a User on the Website, we will delete and destroy all Personal Information and documents pertaining to that User.

1.2.56. Our records of the User’s information will be disposed of securely. We acknowledges that electronic devices and media can hold vast amounts of information, some of which can linger indefinitely.

1.2.57. In the event that a third party is used for Data destruction purposes, we will ensure that such third party will also comply with this policy and any other applicable legislation.

1.2.58. We may suspend the destruction of any record or document due to pending or reasonably foreseeable litigation, audits, government investigations or similar proceedings.

1.2.59. In the event that a document and/or information is no longer required to be stored in accordance with this policy and relevant legislation, it should be deleted and destroyed.

7.3. Retention of the User’s information:

1.2.60. We will store the User’s information until the User have requested to delete it.

1.2.61. We may, if required by applicable legislation, store the User’s information for longer periods of times.

7.4. Passwords:

1.2.62. The User must use strong authentication, and implement a password change every 2 months or provide evidence of effective multi-factor authentication.

1.2.63. Passwords used to access Personal Information must be complex and consist of a length of at least 8 characters, one uppercase, one lower case and one digit. Default or first issue passwords must be changed the first time they are used.

1.2.64. Should there be any suspicion that the User’s password has been compromised the password must be changed immediately.

7.5. Children Data:

1.2.65. We do not collect Personal Information for persons under the age of 16.

1.2.66. In circumstances where we are not aware that Users are under the age of 16 or where we have unintentionally collected Personal Information from persons under the age of 16, this information shall be deleted as soon as possible.
